V. Nagaraj is a prominent Malaysian director.
Naga, as his friends call him, has been in the local cinema field since 1984. He has created such popular Malay language films such as Ghazal untuk Rabiah, Getaran Iskandar and Siapa Tak Sayang Bini.[1]
He has done work in television serials as well.
He entered the Malaysian Tamil film industry in 2004. He is currently directing a Tamil horror film, Aathma (Soul) which was released in 2007.
One of Naga’s TV serials, Oru Thayin Kanavu (A Mother’s Dream), was nominated in several categories in the Sri Angkasa RTM 2007 Awards, which is the Emmy’s of Malaysia.
V.Nagaraj has directed Digital Screening Movie “AATHMA” a horror and thriller movie. This movie was produced under Demaz Entertainment Sdn. Bhd. and showed in the theaters on 19 July last year. The movie was a great success.www.demaz-aathma.com
His second Digital Screening Movie was “IVANTHAANDA HERO” presents by GV Media Broadcast Sdn. Bhd. This movie was released in the beginning of 2008. www.gv-media.com
His third Digital Screening Movie was “URUVAM” produced under Minjan Production Sdn. Bhd. This movie was released end of 2008.
He was awarded as the BEST PROMISING DIRECTOR for GHAZAL UNTUK RABIAH and the movie was awarded as the BEST COMEDY MOVIE. It also was awarded for LAGU TERBAIK in ANUGERAH SCREEN TV3. In addition, V.Nagaraj was NOMINATED for BEST DIRECTOR AWARD IN SRI ANGKASA for TV2 Tamil Drama “ORU THAYIN KANAVU” (20EPS) in 2007. Besides that, V.Nagaraj was also reasonly awarded as BEST DIGITAL MOVIE DIRECTOR IN MTA AWARDS 2007 for AATHMA. He's Digital Thriller Aathma also won BEST DIGITAL MOVIE in Film Festival Malaysia.
